Eco-Schools

The nursery is now registered with Eco-Schools. Eco-Schools is an international award programme that guides schools and nurseries on their sustainable journey, providing a framework to help embed these principles into the heart of school life.

Under two's

The under two year olds have once again split into 3 rooms alloring the older children, 18-24mths the opportunity to enjoy activities and toys more suitable for their age group.

The "Baby Project" course is now established and a new musical movement course attended by our staff recently has highlighted the importance of "tummy time" for babies and children.

 

 

News & Events

News for Summer 2010 :

SCHOOL CLOSURE - NOT US! You have probably read about the King Edward School closing in 2011. We are NOT closing and will not be closing in the future. We rent the land that we are on from the County Council and have a 17 year lease still left to run. We have been here now for 15 years in the grounds of the school. The building and all equipment belongs to us.
July 7 Graduation Day Graduation Day for our leavers will be on July 7th 3-5pm. There will be a presentation of certificates and a party for the children going to school. They will wear their graduation gowns and caps. All parents will be invited to this party.
July-Aug Summer Holiday Club We are open all school holidays as normal. Especially for the holidays we also have Kings Kids Holiday Club, which offers a range of activities and trips for children aged 4-11. Open 7.30am - 6.30pm including meals. Click here for more information.
June 30 Photographer Jane Stapleton, Nursery Photographer will be attending nursery on June 30th. She will be taking photographs of all our children. This time she can take family groups (including parents and siblings).

£30,000 outdoor projects grant

Please come and have a look aroung our garden at the beautiful equipment we have purchased with the grant.

June Trip to Garden Centre Some of the children enjoyed a trip to Gates Garden Centre to buy some bird boxes, bird tables and general bits for the garden.
May 20 The Big Toddle We ALL had great fun dressing up as pirates for this charity fundraising event to raise money for Barnados.
May First Aid 8 staff members have just completed their Paediatric First Aid Course. In the nursery we pride ourselves with all our staff having a first aid certificate. It gives parents peace of mind that all staff can deal with any accidents that may occur durign their child's time with us.
April Trip to Rutland Water A coach full of excited children and staff visited Rutland Water. The children enjoyed a walk around part of Rutland Water, played parachute games, had a lovely picnic and went on the adventure playground. From the visit children learnt a lot about the outside world.
April Parents' Evenings Parents evenings were held in April.
March Music in Nursery 8 staff and 3 childminders attended a music for children course led by Kids Music Company. The Company brought lots of music ideas and lots of props and everyone had lots of fun singing and moving to music.
March Sport Relief Thank you to everyone who helped raise money for Sport Relief. Our fancy dress party and sponsored sporty healthy week raised £90!
February Chinese New Year

We celebrated the Chinese New Year by making Chinese food and eating it, making a dragon and also indulging in pancakes!

February Valentines Day Valentines Day saw us making heart shaped peppermint creams and shortbread and making hand-made cards.

Free baby milk, nappies and wipes

We have started the new year off with FREE nappies and wipes. So far this has been very successful. Saves parents packing their child’s bag every day. Free baby milk is also underway with us providing all types of baby milk.
