About Us

Our nursery is a private, family-run day nursery situated in the grounds of the King Edward VII School, Melton Mowbray. We have been open for 14 years. The nursery is open 51 weeks of the year from Monday to Friday, from 7.00am to 6.30pm, for children aged between 6 weeks and 11 years.

Our aim is to provide a safe and stimulating day nursery facility to a very high standard. The nursery is located in purpose-built premises, and has the benefit of a large garden, allowing the children to play outside on carefully chosen equipment.

Each child has their own key person, and will belong to one of the 6 Winnie the Pooh home rooms appropriate for their age (see the online tour).

We provide all children in our care with comfort, love, security, encouragement and praise and allow children to move forward at their own pace. All children will be valued and respected, and the children will develop confidence through the careful choice of activities. Our nursery offers the highest standards for your child.

Staff
Staff at the nursery are well qualified and participate in on-going training towards their next qualification. Most of our staff have been with us for many years. All are trained in first aid.

Meals
The children enjoy 3 high quality, nutritionally-balanced meals every day. All meals are freshly prepared on-site by our own chef. (See sample menu)

Activities
Trips and outdoor activities are organised for the children on a regular basis. See our News page for forthcoming events and activities.

The children's days are organised to incorporate the Early Years Foundation Stage programme, which focuses on each individual child's learning and development from Birth to Age 5. We plan and produce learning journey booklets for each child which record progress and development in key areas - all with input from parents. When your child is nearing school age we work closely with local schools to arrange visits to the schools to ensure the transition is as smooth as possible for your child.

Uniform
Our nursery encourages the children to wear our uniform of a royal blue polo shirt and sweatshirt, embroidered with our logo. This makes the children feel part of the nursery, it prepares them for school, and protects their own clothes.
